The Statistics

Some 2 million properties and 5 million people are at risk from flooding in England and Wales alone (The Environment Agency). This accounts for 1 in 10 houses, with 200,000 at very high risk (1:75 chance of suffering a flood each year). Flood damage causes millions of pounds worth of damage and untold heartache for those affected, yet research shows that only 10% of people take any action to prepare for such a crisis, with 50% of those living in flood prone areas oblivious to the risk.

The Floodgate Door Barrier

Floodgate door barriers are unique as they do not require any permanent fittings to the property, making them ideal for use on listed buildings. They can be installed in 99% of domestic entrances, with little or no remedial work required.

The Floodgate comprises of a 25mm thick steel boxed frame, which expands telescopically on the horizontal and vertical plane (see diagrams in image gallery). The frame is enveloped by a 7mm thick neoprene jacket which when expanded, forms a waterproof seal between the gate and the aperture it is expanded into.

Due to its unique design, Floodgate does not require any permanent fittings to the property it is protecting, making it ideal for use on listed buildings. It takes approximately 2 minutes to install and can be installed during flooding, meaning that little or no warning is required.

Other Benefits Include: -

· Awarded BSI Kitemark for flood protection for building apertures
· Recognised by the Environment Agency and most leading insurers
· Provides greater flood protection than 50+ traditional sandbags without the associated costs
· Minimal space needed for assembly as only 25mm thick
· Existing doors can be opened to allow access when installed
· Easy to install, maintain, transport and store
· Suitable for rough and smooth surfaces
· Equally effective in fresh or salt water conditions
· Products can be expanded by the addition of extra units to help protect larger entrances such as factory doors or garages

Please Note: To avoid over expansion of the unit, the largest possible gate that will protect the aperture, should always be used.
Approximate Total Weight: 16.45 Kg

Flood protection system consisting of 6 tubes, each 300mm diameter, piled up in to the shape of a pyramid. Designed to protect Houses, Lakes, Rivers, and Dykes from flooding.

Specifications: -

Patented device for Flood Protection (as a sand bag substitute), made of watertight, robust and tear-proof rubberised fabric tube.

The tube system consists of a minimum eight evenly formed chambers, welded, i.e. joined lengthwise with a diameter of circa 200mm each, with a minimum width of 2m and an overall length of up to 50m in one piece.

The single chambers are filled with water through automatical overpressure, thus the hollow parts will be stabilised and smoothly adjusted to ground bumps (See above illustration).

The tube chambers can be piled up according to the water level till the needed height is reached (depending on the water level). Additionally several tube systems can be piled up in layers in order to raise the Dyke or Lake top.

A Waste Water Pump can also be used to fill the tube system, which can be done quickly by just one or two people.

The Barrier can also be removed very easily, just by opening the tube’s seal and letting the water drain off.

Afterwards the tube can be coiled up around a tube drum (Optional) or stored in appropriate transport boxes.

Instructions

• Step One - The Multi-chambered tubular film is placed in too position.
• Step Two - The first chambers are filled with water until maximum capacity.
• Step Three - The next chambers will be piled up in the shape of a pyramid and filled with water until maximum capacity.
• Step Four - Finally the last chamber will be placed on top and filled with water.
• Step Five - If the water level is still rising, additional tube systems can be added and filled with water.
